Chianti Classico Region
Chianti Classico is a premium sub-region of Chianti in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy. The wines make here are typically medium to full body robust and earthy reds. By law, must consist of at least 80% Sangiovese grapes before blending in other varietals. Wines marked as "Reserva" have been barrel aged at least 2 years and aged in the bottle at least 3 months. Chianti Classico experiences a continental climate with hot temperatures in the summer. Soil mainly consists of sandstone with some limestone in parts.
